User Journey Map

We chose Jack as our user journey model, representing the typical student who frequently checks their phone for schedules, messages, and meetings. Azi is designed to be your all-in-one assistant for these tasks.

Key Product Features

After finalizing user journey map, we set three main objectives: calendar management, personalized assistance, and goal setting. Azi is designed to be your go-to college companion, aiming to help students develop effective time management skills and balance their academic and personal lives.

Paper and Low-Fidelity Prototype

We began by iterating our ideas on the whiteboard, transitioning into wireframe design, and conducting preliminary usability testing on the low-fidelity prototype. This process involved gathering user feedback on accessibility, readability, and discoverability. Before moving onto this stage and developing high-fidelity mockups, We brainstormed potential UI designs to understand the Azi's layout and its core features better.

User Feedback

Based on feedback from an interviewee, we conducted user feedback on the homepage to identify the preferred option. The critique that "5 schedules sounds too vague, and I would like to know the specific goals and events" informed our modifications.

Before                                                       After

We found out that in the chatbox, when the profiles are shown on the same side, users seem to be more receptive to it.

Before                                                                After

In response to feedback from interviews, we aim to make our schedule display more intuitive. Notably, 90% of respondents expressed a desire to see the current time within the interface.
An interesting trend emerged: most interviewees from Asian regions preferred the 24-hour time format, whereas those from Western regions favored the 12-hour format. This insight has informed our strategy to approach to creating a more user-friendly display.

Before                                                               After

Recognizing that individuals have varied events, we opted to introduce event cards for users to categorize their schedules. From the interviews, we learned, "When Azi suggests moving events to preserve 'Me Time,' the event card is too small for easy clicking and moving." This insight is guiding our design enhancements for better usability.

Quick Sign-in to Canvas: The fast log-in that connects to the student's university Canvas allows Azi to import the schedule and courses more efficiently and conveniently, helping Azi understand the student's daily routines. Also, once logged in, Azi will automatically initiate a tutorial to help students quickly learn how to use audio to create events.

Schedule Conflict Solver: When there's an unexpected event a student wants to add, Azi can assist in rescheduling and also help in quickly creating a new schedule by providing different time slots for the student to choose from. Since Azi is intelligent, it can also predict the locations students are heading to based on their schedules.
Default Question: As for communicating with Azi, we designed default questions based on the interviews we conducted. Students often want to quickly know about a specific event, today's free slots, and quickly schedule an appointment. By clicking the default questions, students can quickly enter their requests to Azi, thereby saving more time!

Easily Manage Personal Goals: To increase efficiency, Azi will incorporate assignments into 'Personal Goals.' Students can set their personal goals by specifying the name of the goal and the expected completion time. Azi can help students break down these goals into manageable steps. If there are any changes in timing? No worries—students can manually adjust the breakdown as they prefer.

Intuitive and Organized: Azi's calendar can be viewed in three ways: daily, weekly, and monthly. In the daily and weekly views, students can see the exact times on the calendar, allowing for a more intuitive display of time. In the monthly view, different shades of purple indicate 'how busy' the schedules are: light purple means the student has fewer commitments that day, whereas dark purple signifies a tightly packed schedule.

Moreover, there's a feature designed to save students more time! 'Me Time' identifies movable schedules and suggests to students that they could shift these to another day, thereby freeing up more personal time.
